The Guadalajara International Airport is 18 miles from our town, Ajijic, a town on Lake Chapala .
Guadalajara has a population of almost 5 million people and is the largest North American community outside
of The United States.
The charming town of Ajijic was founded in 1510. The Lake Chapala area is now home to about
16,000 Americans and Canadians, along with about 60,000 locals.
Ajijic is pronounced  (ah) (he) (heic)  The lake is approximately 2 1/2 times size of Lake Tahoe.
